Munin — Privacy Policy
Last updated: 22 July 2026
Munin keeps all of your data on your own computer. It does not send your chats, chat content, titles, folders, or any conversation data to any external server. There is no Munin backend that receives your data.
What Munin stores, and where
Everything Munin creates lives locally in your browser — in IndexedDB and
chrome.storage — and is never transmitted anywhere. That is:
- your folders, and their names and colours;
- which chats you've placed in which folders;
- message counts Munin has tallied for your chats;
- your settings and preferences.
This data stays in your browser. Munin has no server to send it to.
How Munin reads your Claude data
To show and organize your conversations, Munin reads your own Claude data through claude.ai's own interface and API, using the session you're already signed in to. This happens entirely inside your browser, only to display and organize your chats for you. None of this data leaves your browser — Munin never copies it to, or shares it with, any outside service.
Payments (Munin Pro)
Optional Pro upgrades are handled by ExtensionPay, a third-party payment provider (extensionpay.com). When you choose to upgrade, ExtensionPay handles your email address and payment details under ExtensionPay's own privacy policy. Munin itself never receives or stores any payment information. This is the only case where any data goes to a third party — and only for people who choose to buy Pro.
No analytics, no tracking
Munin contains no analytics, no trackers, and no telemetry. It does not profile you or report your activity to anyone.
